Children Together Foster Care

The shelter component of the Children Together program was developed to address the needs of adolescents and to encourage and support them through the process of returning home and / or to independent living. Children Together is staffed by professionally trained individuals who are responsible for the 24-hour care and supervision of the girls in the facility. The Children Together staff in conjunction with DCF manages all aspects of the adolescents' daily living routine.

Family Violence Shelter

The Family Violence Program provides a safe haven for women and their children whom are victims of domestic abuse. Our services support, encourage and empower women to recover from these violent incidents. We provide safety and recovery plans that help prepare them to become self sufficient.

Parent Education Program

The Parent Education Program (PEP) provides parenting education and support to participants in the program. The program services include parenting workshops, group activities, individual counseling and classroom learning experiences. PEP consumers require a multitude of services including: parenting skills training to eliminate any negative parenting behaviors, new behavior encouragement, housing assistance, and a helping hand with a food voucher/food pantry.

Men for PEACE Program

The program serves to promote equality and non violence as a valued alternative. to hold batters accountable for their violent and abusive behavoir towards towards family/commutiy and self.

Family Successs Center

The Family Success Center provides staff, families, and community residents of various ethnic backgrounds with housing assistance, food vouchers, parent education, employment search, internet access, health services, and usage of fax machine and telephone. The Center serves families in the community that are economically disadvantaged, have minimal education, and limited to no employment opportunities

Family Outreach Program

FOP provides training, supervision and support to the family workers employed within the Abbott District Contracted Child Care Centers in the City of Newark.

Intensive Family Visitation

This department consists of staff who actively recruit prospective Resource Parents and implement the PRIDE training program. The staff also prepares and and equips the Prospective Foster parent for state licensure. The individuals interested in becoming Resource Parents are interviewed and all necessary information regarding DYFS foster care is provided.
